ClassyMusicSnob No way there's a repress of IGT! I'm q little disappointed the others haven't had one, but perhaps that is yet to come. It was 2007 when I first discovered SGM. I was just getting into extreme metal and found their video for Helpless Corpses Enactment. seeing this monstrosity my terrified teenage mind had to find the album it was on and still to this day this album is more extreme than many death or black albums. Im still waiting on SGM'S final album and hope this is a step in that direction 5/5 Favorite track: The Salt Crown.

are coming out tonight They’ll be here soon They want to be here with us in our glorious times And when they start to laugh, we’ll laugh too But when they start to cry, they’ll ruin it for everyone We’ll ask them to leave And they’ll pull out their knives and kill us all They’re here now Close the gate Lock the door Bring the lights down Put the lights out Close the bar Maybe they’ll give up and go next door Let’s pretend we’re gone Pretend we’re not here Let’s pretend we’re gone I’m too strong now I can’t lose I try but I can’t lose I stole everything from you I stole your disaster from you I can’t give it back Este recuerdo guarda su alma Su alma guarda esta tumba Dios guarda su cuerpo Su cuerpo guarda su aliento Behold the breath of the dragon Mira el brillo del cuchillo All the desperate people in this town are coming out tonight They’ll be here soon

The text of the Helpless Corpses Enactment was written by a famous sorcerer, a Penman, late decendent of the Tuatha De Danann in the line of Finn MacCool, whose words have fallen prey to a proprietary ogre, a certain Shawn the Yawn. Vah! Scatterbrand to the reneweller of the skies, thou who agnitest! Phall if you but will. Rise you must.

Puppet Show 04:21
when in doubt you must repeat this elemental post-script refrain where i love you doesn’t matter it’s the what that loves who we are.

Formicary 05:46
A man who would be king, A big thing. To move great masses with his mouth. To play fast and loose with limb. To build a castle on the sand. To lie with grace and steal with face. A horrible cunning man. A lovable and callous sham. Condemned to flail without end. Condemned to fail in the end. To give more than he takes with high stakes. To save the world from itself. To put his own gain on the shelf. To set his mind on a higher peak. And always turn the other cheek. A champion of the meek. What a total fucking freak. Condemned to flail, tries to mend. Condemned to fail in the end. Insignificant / Indispensable Dependable / Disposable Miniscule / Indefatigable A man who would be king.

I am made of tons of tiny countries with closely guarded borders. Each country has a castle, each castle has a throne. You are the tiny king of your very own. I sneak across at night when the crossing is easy. I watch and I wonder at your curious customs, but I forget them all by day. Did the night invade the day? Or was it day invaded night? Were you among the last to be found? Did you have your hands in the ground? I buried the dead and they came stories, I planted the stories, they came up singing. I planted the song and it came dancing, I buried the dance and it came up facing home. I buried the dead and they came laughing, I planted the laughter, it came up singing. I planted the song and it came fighting, I buried the battle, it came up facing home. I buried the dead and they came up laughing. I buried the laughter and cried. This garden we’ve planted will come up around us and take us all down in a great big avalanche of useless things, of persistently plastic things, of things that cost us this tiny world of tiny kings.

mouth of beast, ravening worshipful, their eyes sent reeling head first into the cage eyes down suffer the lathe they all died kneeling they’re in heaven now

Now I have your shoes Today I wear your old black shirt I have the things that I gave to you But soon I’ll be ready to give them back Come and get them Shale-skin, salt-crown, slate-feather, corpse-down Stone-blood, flesh-bane, life-bone, death-vein, salt-crown Face the sunrise with eyes made of light Swallow the early song with eardrums made of the first sound Break the soft young earth with limbs made of the oldest stone Through our watery eyes, stone watches itself standing Alone, forever, against the flickering sky Through our watery mouths, stone calls itself by a new name Bones of the earth. Stone The bones call the stone by name, crying “Come, old mother, and cover me” The stone shows the bones the way of the silent, lifeless salt crown The bones call the bones of earth by name, crying “Come, old mother’s father, and bury me” The stone shows the bones the way of the ageless, deathless salt crown Now you’ve gone back in And I’ll stay out with your bones, burned and ground to sand Keep watch with the faces you made with your hands But soon I’ll be ready...no I’m not ready to give them back Come Oh come and get them

9.
At last in the trembling leaves This bone-cage slips away Lost in the shivering trees Your absent voice is clay Last breath of green First breath of stone Sweep this cage of bone Hungry for your desperate dreams I hold exhaustion close The shining world is all that it seems I fall in love with ghosts Whispering to you Through reconstructed teeth A cage of bone in the greenless wreath Last breath of green First breath of stone

about

Sleepytime Gorilla Museum Oakland, California

Perhaps we can call them Avant-Prog Metal, or Grindcore Funk Theater, or in the words of one
particularly rapt concertgoer “Satanic Anarchic Viking Shit."

Regardless, Sleepytime Gorilla Museum indoctrinates their audiences with circuitous melodies, unnamable harmonies and gleefully dark, evocative sounds emanating from an array of voices and instruments, many of them homemade.
